Weather permitting we spend a lot of time outside preparing the soil, adding the compost, planting the seeds, watering and picking fruit.
The garden gives us a sense of purpose and the changing seasons. We enjoy observing a plant grow from seed and then when it is ready, we enjoy preparing and eating our own fresh food, grown organically in our garden beds around the houses, and from our land.
We make delicious juices from the fresh blackcurrants as well as wonderful home made jam, which will be stored for the winter months.
In June, we will pick the elderflowers and make a beautiful cordial. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to eat and drink from your own land.
